Universal Studio - Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor ~ best New York Style Pizza (Part 5)

We started our trip to Universal Studio Singapore around 10 AM just a few minutes before the theme park opens. But before coming here, we visited and bought a dozen of assorted bread from our most loved bakery of Breadtalk in Vivo City. It is always the norm since we arrived here in Singapore as it’s easy and convenient as you can find their stalls in most malls and MRT station. Their bread is absolutely gorgeous and who can refuse their  yum yum bread toppings, huh?  Since we have plan to visit USS for a day, having something to eat coming before here is a must, well the ‘baon’ we brought is just for breakfast actually, and we will think later on what we will have for lunch.

USS is a huge themed park therefore expects plenty of carbo to indulge to recharge that lost energy. There are so many restaurant, cafes, bistro and lane food stall mushrooming within the vicinity to choose from. Don’t forget to bring a few extra bucks as most of the foods are quite expensive.  Well, it’s up to you actually to explore your palate as the prices here varies. For classic American food lovers, try Mel’s Diners. For a taste of Chinese cuisine have some dimsums and noodles in Hollywood China Bistro. For sweet tooth lovers, have some slice of pastries, pies and cakes at Celebrity Café just in the entrance of Hollywood zone.

Aside from what I mentioned, there are still so many food outlets in any parts of the USS it’s just that we haven’t visited it personally because we already checked most in Hollywood and New York City zone.

There are two key restaurants situated in New York City, the KT’s Grill and the Loui's NY Pizza Parlor.  KT’s Grill offers the likes of steak, salads, fresh oyster and lots more served in an old fashioned New Yorker way. Hmmmmm it’s ok to indulge in there but the price is out of our budget thus we decided to detour (ahahaha!). Well, we can spare a few bucks but not now, maybe next time then (ahahaha!). 

To complete the whole replica, the place is embellished with Yellow Cab wherein New York is known for.

After a few minutes of roaming, Balong received a call from our friend Llowel, who is based in Singapore and is working in Resorts World Sentosa. He said he is inside the park and offered to treat us whichever restaurant we want (that’s absolutely AWESOME! ~ ahahaha!) Am not picky really but I love pasta so I suggested what if we will try Loui’s Pizza which is just adjacent to New York City Public Library; Balong wanted to object but since he loves pasta too, he keeps his silence (hehehe!)

And so here we are, we picked Loui’s and we find our way then. Since we met Llowel in Battlestar Galactica in Sci Fi City, going to the restaurant is just less than 5 minutes. It’s just along 5^th Avenue in front of Premiere Theater. There is a life size replica of ‘Chef Loui’ in the front with so many pizza signages everywhere. Hmmmmm what do you expect in a Pizza Parlour right? (ahahaha!).

Before stepping in, the aroma of pizza is just empowering outside and we can’t wait to get in. I like the exterior; it is an exact replica of a diner in the US as seen on TV or movies that gave us that antique yet modern feel. Distinct color of blue which is pleasing to the eye is almost everywhere and to complete that replica there is a vintage ‘Yellow cab’ in the front.

I love the place; the ambiance is more relax comparing to other restaurant. It’s almost 1:oopm when we arrived and there were already so many visitors queued yet very well organized. I asked Balong to find a vacant table as I need to help Llowel in the counter.  The setting here is like an open restaurant where you just have to pick and point which food you prefer and they will re-heat or cook it for you. If you have been to IKEA restaurant, then the setting is completely the same.

It is a family friendly restaurant as we’ve seen high seats for children. May not be a good place for a romantic date but great for family gatherings after a day of fun around USS. There are lots of pizza choices and lots of desserts if you may, but since it's not their specialty just fair enough to have a slice. Be amazed how large their soda cup as it is like a 1 liter per container sans the ice (ahahaha!)

We supposed to order one whole Margareta pizza for the three of us but when we saw how huge the size is then we change our mind. Well, you can take home whatever is left but we will spend one whole day in here and we don’t want to have extra baggage you know (ahahaha!).

Spaghetti Carbonara with fresh mushroom, broccoli, and cherry tomatoes which is superb!

And a cup of  fruit salad.

Again, thanks to our dearest friend Llowel for this treat, what else to complain??? it's free for goodness sake! (hehehe!)

So there you go, once you pass-by check it out for yourself. I don't know exactly how much Llowel paid for the whole lunch but worth the try.
