Lory Loft ~ the world's largest Lory flight aviary

Feeding these lovely lorikeets was an awesome experience.

This is my favorite spot in the park, hmmmmmm let me explain why (ahahaha!) I love nature and seeing these birds firsthand is a wonderful experience, it's a piece of paradise for me. Our visit to Lory Loft was an experience not to forget as this is what I dreamed of having since I was a kid (ahahaha!). Currently at home, I have a collection of 10 lorikeets and seeing their families in here is an IMPECCABLE EXPERIENCE (ahahaha!).

Lory Loft in Singapore’s Jurong Bird Park is considered as the ‘world's largest lory flight aviary’. Should you want to have an interactive experience with the Lories and Lorikeets then come and visit this place. We visited the aviary right after our tour to Parrots Paradise, Penguin Coast, and the Flamingo Pool. It was an awesome experienced for bird lovers as we passed through exhibits of the Royal Ramble (home of  the world’s largest crowned pigeon), the Toucans and Horn bill, the Birds of Paradise, and the Scarlet ibises.

You can roamed around the park 'on foot' but in order for you to explore this 20+ hectares vicinity then better use the ‘hop-on, hop-off’ tram. The tram charged us SGD 5 (around P150.00 or USD 3) per person for an unlimited ride. It dropped us to different exemplary exhibit that Jurong bird Park have. Please make sure to show your ticket once you hop in as they check it from time to time. 

The panorail, unfortunately out of service when we visited the park :(

Panorail is the most popular ride that we wanted to try but to our dismay, it was out of service when we went there (sad mode! waaaaaaa!). I heard from my fellow tourist that they will pull out the services.  It’s depressing  because even I haven't tried it yet but it gives visitors a bird’s eye view of the park (haissssst!).

Anyway, when we reached the ‘Lory Loft’ vicinity, two skillfully sculptured replica of peacock greeted us on our way in. The tail is decorated with real flowers just like a stunning tail of a real peacock. We took a few shots before entering. Passing through the main gate was like transporting you into a rainforest where you are surrounded by lush greenery. We are so amazed on how they built the 360 degrees panoramic view of the enclosure because it is so huge (when I say huge, really huge!!! ~ ahahaha!). Imagine an 8-storey building that is the height comparison surrounded by mesh wire (whew!). No questions why it is called the 'world’s largest' since its width is around the size of 6 to 8 olympic swimming pool combined (ahahaha!).

Come on buy some food for me first before I'll pose, k?, hmmmmppp!!!

Group of kindergarten pupils were already enjoying feeding the Lories inside. It was enjoyable to watch them hesitant because they were afraid to get near with the birds (ahahaha!). I have to admit, was a bit hesitant too (ahahaha!). I’ve seen one girl in particular crying because too many Lories came to her while she was holding the feeding cup. I wanted to help but it seems her parents were enjoying watching, they even took shots when the birds were on her head (ahahaha!) Pretty sure it was one experience she will never forget, she can look back when she grows old and laugh about it (perfect moments huh! ~ hehehehe).

Great thing about this trip is that you can really have an up-close encounter with these creatures!!!! It was really amazing. These parrots were so tamed and so friendly!!!  They were not afraid of people for goodness sake, they are so forthcoming too. Should you want to have a snap then carry on as if they were used to it and they will really strike pose in front of you! (ahahaha!). 

Is there anything else for me please, mind to buy one more cup? 

If you are interested to feed the birds, you can buy a cup of honey for SGD 5 (around P150.00 or USD 3) per cup. These birds are so adorable and so cute to watch while they were drinking; however, be aware that sometimes they hop on you and their claws can grip your hands and hurt a bit (hehehe)

C'est moi, playing in the hanging bride ahahahaha!!!

Walking in a hanging bridge is a good try as if you were walking in the canopies of the amazon. There were ‘hut’ stations on each corner of the hanging bridge if you are tired of roaming around. You can stay for a few minutes to rejuvenate your loss energy, while  enjoying the scenery where lorikeets fly just in front of you.

It’s a refreshing feeling to hear these birds freely flying from branches to branches. They seems happy and contented being in the area. They were in enclosure yet it feels like they were in their natural habitat.
