Universal Studio - The Lost World ~ transporting to the world of Dinosaurs (Part 9)

The Lost World
Resorts World Sentosa
Sentosa Island, Singapore
Looks like an ordinary palm leaves right? (hehehehe!) Lots of fossils-like object can be found everywhere.
The Lost World is the 5th main attraction in Universal Studio Singapore (USS) situated just a few walks away from Ancient Egypt and Far Far Away zone. This vicinity is divided into two sub areas: the Jurassic Park,  where the world of Dinosaur becomes alive and the Waterworld that features death defying stunts of actors in a natural setting.
Entrance of the Jurassic Park zone. Say hi to everybody, Balong, come on! (hehehe!)

But before watching the 'Waterworld', we decided to check what Jurassic Park do offer first because it is the nearest attraction just after Ancient Egypt which we had so much fun exploring the old civilization because we had tricky adventure of solving the riddles of ancient mysteries, fighting with the mummies and the scarab beetles and passing through several sand dune and wide dessert (naks! as if ~ ahahaha!).  If Ancient Egypt is full of sands and deserts, in here it’s an opposite as lush greenery of the surrounding is very apparent like the jungle of the Amazon. It's the world of giant dinosaurs that roamed the earth a million years ago.

Covered trail serves as protection from direct sunlight as the weather here in Singapore is extremely ruthless sometimes like the Philippines.

Since it is based on the science fiction adventure film directed by the famous man himself Steven Spielberg, there are so many replicas that makes you think how small we are in front of these gigantic dinosaurs. They have replicas of much smaller species but mostly larger than life figures.

First thing we observe was the presence of fossilized ‘palm leaves’ everywhere. It’s like there were flood when these fossils were formed as hundreds of leaves were scattered all over the place including dinosaur bones. It’s like you’re walking through an open excavation and you as guest are considered as one of the paleontologist ready for the adventure (ahahaha!).

Jurassic Outfitters, a retail outlet just in the entrance to the Rapids Adventure.

There is a huge covered trail  on our way in where a retail outlet of  ‘Jurassic Outfitters’ can be found. They were selling  several souvenir items and lots of memorabilia ranging from SGD 5 to 40 depending on the items you prefer. They do sell ball pens, caps, hats, adventure gear, shirts, and a lot more. If you have plan to ride the ‘Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure’ and forgot to bring your towel then buy a beach towel that cost around SGD 10.

These replicas of giant dinosaurs can be found just in front of Discovery Food Court.

There are two giant figures of Tyrannosaurus Rex in the center of the zone complete with about to hatch eggs. They both like the height of a two storey building surrounded by large trees. There is a small fountain in front and we’ve seen group of kids enjoying while playing in the water to defend the humid weather in the park. If you’re tired of walking there are available benches just besides the fountain which is good if you brought something to eat and you can munch it in here.

The zone is like the replica of Nublar Island where these whole story started. Actually, it’s just a fiction island in the Jurassic Park movie but seeing the huge gate on your way in is like transporting you to the movie itself. Most of the structures built and featured in here is a copy of the first movie installment.

Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, the landmark attraction of the Lost World but unfortunately we haven't tried it ourselves. Maybe next time then :).

Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure is the landmark attraction of the Lost World Zone. We supposed to take the ride but Balong wasn’t feeling good because of the three rollercoaster rides we’ve been too (Transformers Ride, Cyclon, and Revenge of the Mummy). I did asked him to join me inside but seems he is not that capable anymore to ride, thus we gave it a pass.

Canopy Flyer allows you to have the birds eye view of the whole Lost World zone.
Beyond the Rapids Adventure, we visited the Canopy Flyer, a suspended 4 seater flying swing ride that allows you to have the bird’s eye view of the whole park. It's a 'dinosaur proof vehicle that gently glide over the canopies while a group of pterodactyl hunts you down (ahahaha ~ just kidding!).
Amber Rock Climb.
There is an Amber Rock Climb just beside the wall of ‘Waterworld’. If you’re a rock climber, an athlete or just an ordinary person like we are then this is a good try as you can scale the walls complete with fossilized dinosaurs skeletons, insects and plants. You can even hear the squeaking of dinosaurs in the area that seems real. It provides heady challenge in the form of vertical wall studied for the novice and expert climber. It’s not free by the way as you need to pay extra charges to try this and if ever you reach at the top expect some treasures and surprises.

Dino -soarin for kids.
Dino-soarin ride is an attraction in the corner of the zone which is absolutely recommendable for kids. It’s basically an up-and-down, round and round spinner ride inside a flying pteranodon which you can control the vertical heights of the carriage as they twirl around. It’s like a carousel, but instead of a horse it’s a bird (hehehe!).
Large skeletons near the entrance to the Canopy Flyer. I guess its part of the ribs. (hehehe!)
Food and beverages is not a problem either as they have two outlets that offers several cuisine for your palates desire. They have Discovery Food Court with its structure copied to the original Jurassic Park Movie and within there is a huge dinosaur skeleton in the center that looks like observing all the guest that comes in. They have wide varieties of food to choose from like noodles, chicken rice, laksa (noodles topped with shrimps), Hainanese chicken, and lots more. Another outlet is the Fossil Fuels that serves light snack like hot dogs and bratwurst couple with refreshing frozen drinks at the tropical jungle store.
Cute warning signs huh? (hehehe!) Beware ok!

We may not be able to ride the 'Jurassic Park Rapid Adventure but we had a great time exploring the zone. It was like we became paleontologist for the first time (hehehe!). It was one adventure not to forget especially those who have fascination with dinosaurs even fans of the movie itself. I don't know in which continent do Nublar Island is located but one thing is for sure, Singapore has its own version which is one of the best place to visit. :)

This is just one of the hundred replica of dinosaur around the vicinity.

So there you go, gonna go for now. Coming up next, Waterworld.

Have a great day/night everyone!
