Sentosa Island is dotted with myriad tourist attractions for everybody to
spoil. It is considered as the largest playground in Asia and is one of the most sought after tourist destination once you’re in
Singapore. Earlier, it was known as the fishing village
which later has developed and become tourist attraction of the country.
An epitome of beauty that offers countless opportunities to visitors to
have fun with.
The
spectacular island is located in the country’s southern coast and truly
invites thousands and thousands of visitors from all over the world. If
you’re up to a pleasurable
with lots of thrilling excitement then a visit to this place is a must.

When
Balong, BFF Lemwuel and myself visit here, we spent one whole day
exploring each corner of this beautiful and dazzling island. In the
southern coast alone, we spent half
day exploring the area where most of the stunning manmade beaches of Siloso and
Palawan can be found. We roamed and wandered each corner
and mesmerize by the panoramic view of the beaches and the nearby
islands. The sands may be exported from
Malaysia and Indonesia but who gave a fuzz?
It’s beautiful and perfect for friends and family gatherings that offers
wide variety of activities to indulge. As long as you have SGD 1 as an
admission fee to the island, then you’re
free to go. Just don’t forget to bring a bottle of water plus lots and
lots of chips as prices here is a bit expensive than what is in the
mainland.

Going in
Sentosa Island is the least of your worries as there are plenty of mode to choose from:
Sentosa Express that operates daily as early as 7 am to 12 midnight is located at the level 3 of
Vivo City. The fare including the island admission is only
SGD 3.50 per person which is equivalent to PHP 115 or USD 2.50. There
are three specific site station within the island;
the Waterfront, the Imbiah and the Beach Station.

Another approach is via
Sentosa Boardwalk which is considered as the first themed boardwalk in Asia.
If you’re not in a hurry and if you’re on a tight budget then this
means is best for you. It is open 24 hours daily and absolutely free if
you have no plan to
get into the island. However, if you do then you are only required to
pay SGD 1 per person as an island fee. The travel time is only around 10
to 15 minutes and there are four travellator just in case you’re not in
the mood to walk. Besides while using the
boardwalk, it give you an awesome view that lies within Keppel Harbour.

For more adventurous type, try the
Singapore Cable Car to have the bird’s eye view of the whole Sentosa and the neighboring islands. What you need to do inorder to get into the
Cable Car Station at HarbourFront Tower Two, alight at
Harbourfront MRT station and proceed to Exit B towards the Harbourfront Center.
Cross the link bridge which is beside the KFC and voila the embarking
station is situated. The price each person usually varies as they have
promos sometimes;
but on ordinary days it is only SGD 26 per person around PHP 850 or USD
20 including the islands admission fee.

One of the group of companies responsible for bringing 5 star entertainment and accommodation to
Sentosa is Resorts World (RWS).
RWS is the prime resort that caters guest who visit
Singapore. It is located just in the entrance of the island that serves as the welcoming resorts that will greet you in once you’re here.
Waterfront Station is the closest monorail express station and Festive Walk is the first attraction that will say ‘hi’ to you right away. The conspicuous design of huge ‘leaf’ canopies can be seen on the pathway that serves
as shade from the scorching sun and shelter from rain.

Festive Walk
is one of the interesting find to see and enjoy once you’re
here. As the names suggest, it’s a walk to remember as everything you
fancied with can be found in here. It is divided into 3 areas, the
Bull Ring which the entrance of Universal Studios Singapore is located, the
Forum, a retails and dining through fare leading to the casino, and
Waterfront a dining and shopping area facing the mainland.

The
Bull Ring is where Candilicious outlet is positioned too. For all sweet tooth lovers out there like I am, then it’s a piece of heaven to enjoy (ahahaha!). Just the lantern of candies and lollies hanging on the ceiling outside
of the store is really tempting. I love candies and chocolates and everything in between (ahahaha!). When I went to
Dubai last year, they have outlet facing the Dubai Mall Aquarium and seeing their channel here is pretty AWESOME!! (ahahaha!). I’m so-so years old already but my love for sweets still
arrgggghhhh!!!! It’s hard to resist (ahahaha!)

Well anyway, after roaming around the
Festive Walk, we went to The Galleria where most of the known international luxury brands drift like
Versace, Bulgari, Chanel, Chopard, Bally, Coach, Jimmy Choo, Mont Blanc etc. etc… The interior itself is classy and chic, perfect for shopaholics out there. For women delight, there is
Victoria Secret Boutique that open its first retail outlet in Singapore. I was laughing when I saw the shop, as I thought they only sell lingerie as we’ve seen in their fashions shows (ahahaha!). They actually have hundreds
of choices about beauty products and prestigious perfumes aside from their fashion inspired collections!!! (ohhhhhhh my ~ ahahaha!).

Honestly, just roaming around makes you feel that you’re in an area exclusive for the A lister shoppers (ahahaha!). What we have may not be enough to buy one luxury item
but the glee and curiousness that brought us here is enough I guess (ahahaha!).
We are really homey in terms of outfit because we just arrived from the
beach and we are only wearing board shorts and sleeveless (ahahaha!). If there is a dress
code to follow when you enter here, pretty sure security guards will not let us in (ahahaha!).

My gosh there are lots of ‘luxuries’ everywhere and what the h***, are we doing here??? (ahahaha!). Is this really the place where most of the rich and famous usually
shops and stay? Hmmmm I am fine with bargain sales in Bugis street though, I am an expert with regards to haggling (bwahahaha!).

You know what’s more interesting?
The Galleria is mushroomed with lots of luxury hotels too.
Excuse myself with regards to this as spending more than 3,000 a night
is too much in our budget (ahahaha!). However, if you can afford to spend PHP 10,000++ per night then here
are the list for you (wink wink ~ hehehe):

The Crockfords Tower ~ just the intricate detailing of the building is really amazing. But oooppsssss,
this hotel is by invitation only, meaning it is not open to the general
public. Well, even it’s open we can’t afford to stay here anyway
(ahahaha!). Don’t get me wrong please, we can pay one suite for a night but there is a consequence, two days of starving (ahahaha ~ joke!). Am sorry was just making fun of myself (ahahaha!).

2) Next stop is
Hotel Michael which is located just beside the bustling Festive Walk.
Stepping into the hotel is like stepping into an art gallery. There are
so many art pieces surrounding the structure and as usual we content
ourselves just in
the lobby (ahahaha!). Do you happen to know Fernando Botero? Well, one of his famous art sculpture ‘Adam and Eve’ will greet you upon entering. For art lovers, this is a gem to explore. The brochure says that this was built
as a tribute to Michael Graves, one of America’s greatest contemporary architect.

Hard Rock Hotel, Singapore ~ man, man, man……. do I have to explain further?
Whew!!!! The lobby alone is awesome!!!!!! The sleek and very ‘rock in roll’ design of the hotel is one reason why you should visit the place.
Singapore has lots of exported hotels from around the world and
Hard Rock Hotel is one of them. My friend said that the pool
inside is stunning and you should spell capital A.W.E.S.O.M.E. once you
witness it. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen it ourselves, thus I let
imagination see it on behalf of me (ahahaha!).
Should you have time and ample amount to splurge for dine in then visit the nearby
Hard Rock Café just beside the Forum.

After wandering the retail outlet and hotel lobbies (lol!), the main highlight of our
Resorts World Sentosa trip is of course the casino. The entrance is filled with again ‘luxury cars’!!! It’s like luxury items in here is too common for everybody to have (ahahaha!). Well, we are contented with pics as that is the
only luxury we have (ahahaha!)

Going to the casino is an attraction in itself, as the escalator from
The Galleria down to the entrance of casino will treat you with light effects. It’s like the
Lake of Dreams show in Festive Walk sans the
water. The synchronization of light with music is really beautiful to
look at. We paused for a while along with other tourist while enjoying
ourselves watching the bursting of light,
colors and music into one.

By
the way, we have no intention of going in as we are not ready to
gamble, besides what we have in our pocket is solely for dine in (ahahaha!).
However, if you wanted
to try and experience the world of gamblers then you should attempt it
for once. If you’re a tourist, it’s totally free as long as you show your
passport in the entrance hall.

There are still so many attractions in here that is worth visiting.
I already featured Lake of Dreams and Universal Studios before and that is also a part of
Resorts World Sentosa . RWS is a one-stop entertainment
package for all the tourist and locals to enjoy. Everything you fancied
is easily accessible here, the questions is: Do you have enough money to
splurge? Then if you do have, then this is
a perfect place for you (hehehe!).
