If we talk about shopping malls and centers to shop, dine in, watch movies or simply wandering around, then
Vivo City is must visit place once you are in Singapore.

I
don’t know how many times Balong and I been here but this is the closest
landmark we can get into when we were in this small yet amazing country.
It is
one of the best shopping destination aside from wide array of
selections in Orchard Road that will satisfy your eyes. If we talk about retail and lifestyle destination,
Lion City is one of the best country to visit with. I am
not a big fun of fashion ‘fuzz’ but if you’re into it then a visit to
this place should be in your itinerary.
Vivo City is located near
Sentosa Island where Siloso and Palawan Beach is situated along with
Resorts Worlds. This is considered as the largest
one-stop shopping mall that housed several international and local
brands combined for local and internationals shoppers.

The immense structure is facing the
Keppel Harbour, the known stretch of water that separates the southern island of
Sentosa and Pulau Brani with the mainland of Singapore. From here, you’ll see the magnificent beauty of
Sentosa Island with the huge signage ‘Resorts World Sentosa’
from afar. There are also several vessels, yachts, and leisure cruises
passing through the harbour plus cable cars that dangles through the
atmosphere. It may not be as
beautiful as the Manila Bay Sunset but this is the best place to enjoy the afternoon siesta.

This iconic destination has a unique and distinct architecture. It’s like a huge sponge with large holes to it (ahahaha!).
Hey, that is just a
mere observations ok, don’t take it seriously. It may not be like that
but that is how I perceive the building especially when you ride the
tram going to
Sentosa Island. Seriously, it’s exceptional architectural
design makes it more appealing because of its individuality. That is how
the building should be, stay out of the norm, you know! The architect I
presume makes a resemblance of a wave since
the building is located near the sea and colored the edifice with white
which is pleasing to the eyes.

The City is the largest retail, entertainment , and lifestyle destination
and imposing part of the country’s surfeit of shopping options. It’s very accessible by train via
HarbourFront MRT Station which is an underground mass rapid transit interchange of the
North East Line (NE1) and Circle Line (CC29).
This is the most convenient in a sense that passengers do not have to
walk long distances to interchange as both line face each other. It is
just next to
HarbourFront Center previously known as Singapore World Trade Center and connects to business centers via pedestrian bridges.
Vivo City derived from the word ‘VivaCity’
that stimulates
visitors with its vibrant mix of retails and entertainment concepts A
place bubbling with energy and flowing with vitality. It features huge,
wide, open spaces for waterfront relaxation and entertainment and a full
calendar of exciting festivals and events
that will draw both locals and foreign visitors. . It also evokes a
lifestyle experience that is modern, stimulating and accessible to
everyone.

It’s shopping center covers everything, when I say everything
hmmmmm all you need under the sun or the moon (ahahaha!).
Well, what do you expect in shopping mall anyway. It encompasses retail
stores ranges from books, fashion, sports, lifestyle, and a lot more.
Swarovski, Crocodile, Abercrombie, National Geographic and Golden Village Gold Class Cinemas are just examples of shops/cinemas to indulge with.

Please note if you’re looking for cheap items, it’s not the best place to visit except if there are promotions.
However, if you wanted to have some bargain then go to Bugis or
Mustafa Market in Little India. They may not be as sophisticated like
Vivo City but you can save ample money in there specially for souvenir items (ahahaha!).

The
Sky Park situated at the roof top of the shopping mall is the popular place for all since it gives an awesome view that takes-in the
Keppel Harbour. It envelops the whole rooftop
and personally, the best place to hang out especially if you have your
family and friends tag along. It is the best place to have a bird’s eye
view of
Sentosa and you can hold picnics in here as it provides
topographies of landscaped gardens, observation landings, and a large
shallow reflection pool.

There
is a large amphitheater too, an open air venue used for entertainment
and performances. Built to a semi
circular plan with tiered seating above a performance area. I did try
running to and fro the tiered seats and I was like out of my mind doing
it (ahahaha!). It’s like a theater style stage with audience only on one side and a huge canopy covering the
whole place.

If you find yourself searching for the best meal to eat and have that antique slash vintage feel, then try to
go to Food Republic food court which is located at the
level 3 of the mall. The concept combines local hawker fare with mini
restaurants in an open dining concept. Some stalls are also run from
standalone pushcarts complete with different concepts.
I love the elaborate décor and fixtures of the interior as the designed
is to invoke a nostalgic kampong atmosphere.

Just next to
Food Republic food court is the terminal of Sentosa Express monorail. The best thing in here – you can continue the fun in
Sentosa after you’ve finished your shopping. The Vivo City
is conveniently linked to Sentosa Island via tram system
which take you in and out of the islands for a faster journey that
charge you with SGD 2. However, if you wanted to have a leisurely walk
while enjoying the view of the
harbour then try Sentosa Boardwalk, the first themed boardwalk in Southeast Asia.

Once you’re in Singapore and wanted to have some shopping spree then come to
Vivo City. Try it for yourself to believe it. We have no
spare cash to indulge in shopping thus we content ourselves with window
shopping (ahahaha!). It may not be as big as the Mall of Asia but it is one visit
to enjoy and defend ourselves from humidity
of Singapore.

The
place is just around 15 minutes from Changi Airport via MRT or either way you can rent a taxi if you wanted to. If you
want to go to Sentosa, then try to
have a few minutes wandering in here. I suggest visit the Vivo Mart in
level 1 and buy some goods because the
price in there is staggeringly expensive, but if you have extra money to
spoil then go ahead….
