Universal Studio - Hollywood After Hours ~ save the best for last (Part 13)

Hollywood Zone
Resort World Sentosa
Sentosa Island, Singapore
The spectacular show of Hollywood after hours. A 10-minute fireworks display the enlighten the whole Universal Studio Singapore.
Spending one whole day in Universal Studio’s Singapore (USS) is a MUST in order to explore all of its attractions. We may be exhausted for the whole day tour but it is all worth it! Thanks to our BFF Lemwuel and Llowel who are both based in Singapore who help us out in our stay here. It was one whole day full of rides and excitement that made our Universal Studios trip hard to forget. We may experienced some mishaps  along the way like the confinement of Balong in the clinic for 2 hours because of vertigo but in totality it was one awesome, fulfilling trip.
Huge signage of Hollywood just in the entrance of the park.
The reason why Balong was admitted is because of our non-stop rides starting in 1) Transformers, the 3D ride, 2) Battlestar Galactica ‘Cyclone’  and finally, 3) Revenge of the Mummy. We supposed to try the Jurrasic Park River Rapids in the Lost World Zone but he is not feeling well already, thus we gave it a pass and we went to the hospital for check up instead. Thanks to Llowel (seems a private nurse) who assist us all along.
Mel's Diner just beside the Lake Hollywood where 'Hollywood After Hours' bash.
For the series of rides that we’ve been too, I surprise myself because I don’t feel any dizziness while riding most of the rides rather enjoyed it BIGTIME (ahahaha!)! I was even searching for a more demanding and thrilling adventure to fill that curiousness, you know (naks ~ ahahaha!). I have uncontrollable fear of heights but was in shocks because it didn’t triggers at all instead it boast my confidence more! (ahahaha!)

The view of Pantages Theater just in front of Mel's Diner.
As what other would say ‘save the best for last’, thus I’ll feature the last attractions that USS could offer to its local and international guest, the Hollywood After Hours. As it name suggest, it’s like a party celebration after your whole day tour within the park. It features a live pyrotechnics show that set to a musical score over Lake Hollywood.
Some sections of New York City zone is still open and we did some road works for Airplane ticket to Philippines (ahahaha!)
But before going further, let’s go back first to the 12 completed entries I’ve done in the past few days which I mentioned below. It took me several weeks to complete the whole set because I am a working too, you know. I need to feed my voracious mouth while having some time making entry per week end and need to reminisced the past in order to explain in details all the things that we’ve been through (ahahaha!).

I posted separate entry in each zone because it’s quite hard to delete most of the pictures that we accumulated; besides each zone has its own highlights that is significant to share to everybody.
Beauty of the castle at night in Far Far Away Zone.
Anyway, we finished in Madagascar around 7:00pm and we accompanied BFF Lemwuel to claim his picture with Winnie and Woody Woodpecker at ‘The Dark Room’ that cost him SGD 30 for two sets of pictures. The retails store is located besides Celebrity Café and Bakery in front of Silver Screen Collectibles that sells wide variety of camera accessories

One of the best things Hollywood Singapore has to offer is its longer operating hours. We supposed to leave after visiting Madagascar but Lemwuel suggested that we need to wait until 9:30pm to witness the Lake Hollywood Spectacular. Balong and I can’t hide the emotions of drowsiness and exhaustions of all days of walking; however, since we are already in here and have nothing to do in the hotel we waited then.
It’s already past 7:30pm yet there are still so many tourist coming in the park. The whole Hollywood zone come to be something like a night market alight with neon signs and glamorous lightning as crowds were busy buying souvenirs or just simply wandering around. This is the only zone that open as the rest of the park already ceased. It is open for guest to shop, dine and relax while enjoying the night scene of the zone. Some sections of New York City and Madagascar Zone partly operates for photo shots but only at the borders.

For the information of everybody Lake Hollywood Spectacular only happens during Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Those who didn’t have the day-pass ticket can purchase Universal Studio’s Singapore After Hours for SGD 5 around PHP 165 or USD 3.5 per person. Please note that the ticket outlet are only available on-site from 6:30 pm onwards. If you bring your kids along under 2 years old then he/she is free. You need to be there before 6:30 as sometimes lots of people already en-queue as early as 5:30 to buy the tickets.

There were quite a number of eateries mushrooming around and when you come to such place, don’t expect it to be cheap. We drop by and check out the pricing at Hollywood Chinese Bistro (serves traditional Cantonese cuisine) and it costs SGD 28++ (around PHP 900 ++ or USD 22 ++) and they only serve if there are more than 2 pax! We checked Mel’s Drive-in too and supposed to buy 4 burgers but there are no available seat somewhere thus we gave it a pass. One thing I realized, the best thing to overcome your hunger during such time is to take lots and lots of pictures (ahahaha!).
After checking most of the restaurant available, we decided to take our light snack instead in one of the hotdog stand. We ordered 4 hotdog sandwiches for SGD 5/pc. and four bottles of coke for SGD 3/pc. There are no tables that surrounds the stall but there are benches available nearby the lake, thus we sit in there while enjoying the whole view of the lake.

At exactly 9:00pm, crowd had already gathered to get a good position by the lake. We were at the back of Mel’s Diner facing the fortress of Far Far Away Zone and it’s a beauty to see the castle change its color from time to time. At 9:30pm hundreds already gather and encircling the Lake Hollywood and a huge sound comes out from somewhere and a loud yet appealing music is heard that indicates Lake Hollywood Spectacular  is about to start.
It is an incredible show set to a brilliant musical score that burst across the night sky right in front of you! The show lasted less than 10 minutes but it was one show not to missed. We may be tired of the whole tour but watching the whole synchronized show is simply amazing. It’s like filling the night with lights for visitors delight; super loud, very colorful yet worth the wait.
This is considered as one of the main highlights of Hollywood After Hours so don’t forget to passed by to witness this grand event of magnificent firework display. Here are some of the pictures taken during our night tour.
If your main purpose is to watch only the live pyrotechnic show then I guess you need to think again. It is an awesome show but you should not miss the elaborate 7 zone that USS have. Personally, try to have a complete one whole day affair in here, start roaming at 10 in the morning and end up at 10 in the evening for you to have a thorough and up close experience about the park.
The show ended quarter to 10 and we headed home without ado. We pass-by at the Candilicious store and I was attracted to the huge colorful lollipop swirls hanging on the tree outside the shop. There are plenty of candies to choose from but am not into sweets so we content ourselves with just souvenir pics (hehehe!).
Kids playing outside the park to beat the humidity of Singapore.
So there you go, that wraps up our one day trip in Universal Studios Singapore. If you ask me will I ever come back again? My answer would be without a doubt, WE WILL!!!

Baby Van, Abby, Sophie and Alliyah, just pick what you want and Daddy will pay for it :)

Have a great day and night everyone.

Cheeeeeeeeerrriiiiiiiiiiooooooooooooosss!!!

Enan signing off.

SMILE
