The beauty of Caribbean Flamingos @ Singapore's Jurong Bird Park
[Kindly note, this is a continuation of my post "Jurong BirdPark". We have a separate entry about Penguin Coast, the Flamingo Pool, the Lory Loft and the World of Darkness as they have features worth sharing. Penguin Coast was already featured in the previous entry, Lory Loft and World of Darkness will be featured soon.]

So let the journey begin in ‘Flamingo Pool’. Singapore's Jurong Bird Park has a collection of so many rare species of birds and we are very fortunate to experience that first hand just for SGD18 (around P600.00 or USD 13.00) per person. Actually our trip to this park was very enchanting as this was the first bird park we've been too. They have wide variety of birds that meticulously sheltered in here as some species is already endangered.

Right after our visit to Penguin Coast, Balong and I decided to go further in. We stop-by to one of the souvenir shops that sell different items from key holder to shirts design. We supposed to buy some stuff toys but it’s just the first day of our tour and we still have lots of places to visit and that means more ‘money’ to spend (budgeting you know ~ ahahaha!). We already have plenty of shots; thus, I guess that is enough souvenirs than buying items that cost as a few folds, ayt? (sounds stingy huh! ~ ahahaha!). We stayed for a while in ‘Parrot Paradise” as we're so mesmerized by the beauty of different breed of parrots from ‘noisy’ macaws to adorable lorikeets. They have tens of species in here that is situated just in the entrance. If you love cockatoos then this is the place to stopover as they have ample in here. You can even touch and have a picture with them.

Just beside the ‘parrot paradise, we've seen these colorful flocks of flamingos. Actually at first, we haven’t seen this spot when we checked the ‘Parrot Paradise’. We thought it was just an ordinary lake that beautifies the surroundings; however, when we come closer and closer we saw stands of flamingos gathers underneath the trees, resting, preening and feeding. The lake is almost like the size of a medium size swimming pool with cascading waterfalls surrounded by lush greenery. When we arrived in the area, there are already few people queuing to have snaps of the flamingos. We waited for a few minutes for our turn and asked our fellow tourist to have our picture taken. I do have tripod but the pathways are uneven and I don’t want to cause any trouble just fixing the tripod in front of queues no! (ahahaha!). The least we did was asking someone humbly and thank God because no one refused to take our pictures (ahahaha!).

I still remember that Balong and I did our petty fight in here as he doesn’t want me to asked some foreigners to have our picture taken (ahahaha!) Well, misunderstandings do occur in our trips but the main point is, we enjoyed the tour (ahahaha!).

When we came back after an hour they started to roam around the lake.
Personally, Flamingo Pool is considered to be the most popular attraction not to be missed within the Jurong Bird Park. It is also considered as the most photographed in the vicinity since they are best for wallpapers and backgrounds. As what my title suggests, the Flamingo Pool is the place where color lives as these multihued creatures in bird species do habituates here. It is one of the lovely attractions that will greet you just around 30 meters away from the gate entrance. For all nature lovers, this is a spot not to ignore as they have wide collection of the most beautiful of all flamingo-species; the Caribbean Flamingos

up-close with the flamingos. :)
One interesting part, there is one “Banyan tree” that shades the vicinity. Hmmmmm in the Philippine folklore, it says that it is a place where “maligno’ stays (scary ~ ahahaha!). If I am not mistaken, more than 20 flamingos resides in this muddy flats enclosure. From afar, they are so beautiful to look at while they were preening their brightly colored feathers. We are so mesmerize by their multihued color combination of pink, orange and white. Tell me, who would not love these creatures, right? We stayed there for almost half an hour before we decided to leave and roamed for other features within the park. I just have one question, do flamingos fly? (ahahaha!). Pretty sure they do but it seems that they are so tame and vacating the vicinity is not an option. (ahahaha!). Well, that is just a mere observation k? (stupidity strikes again ~ ahahaha!). It’s so overwhelming to see them up-close. Observing them in their semi-natural habitat is a wonderful experience.

closer, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee ahahaha!

So there you go, that is the experience we have in “The Flamingo Pool”. Lory Loft, is up next, my favorite spot in the park. You will see why.

Cheersssssssss,

Enan signing off…
