First thing that comes to mind if we talked about summer is of course capital ‘B.E.A.C.H.’! Who would not want to be soaked under the sun to enjoy the shining shimmering summer ha? Just don’t forget to bring your shades, sunscreen protections, cap, towel, and voila! You’re ready to go. Ooooppppsss you're fave bikini or trunks too just in case you wanted to show some skins (ahahaha!).

‘Beach outing’ is not supposed to be on our bucket list to indulge since we have plenty of beautiful, stunning and finest natural beaches in the Philippines; but since we are here in Singapore, why not try to explore and discover some of the hippest beaches that they can offer, right?

Sentosa offers 3 beaches to choose from, Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong that lies on the 3 km long southern part of the island. It's imperatively true that the sand and boulders that are used here are all imported from Malaysia and Indonesia, but still you can't deny the fact that these are the coolest place for fun loving people which is recognized for hosting beach bash and active night life. It may not meet your expectation as 'the best natural beach' around but this is the closest you can get into from the city center.

Out of the three choices, our first stop is Siloso Beach. It is one of the manmade beaches that lie on the west portion of the southern coast. If you are fed up with mundane busy life, have a morning or afternoon break in here then. I assure you behind the artificiality of the place as what other would usually say, it's still worth to visit and explore. Just the splendid landscape that embodies the area to have fun and enjoy is one distinguished characteristic not to ignore.

This is the scenery that awaits you in Siloso Beach.

Getting to Siloso Beach is just a piece of cake; we started from Vivo City and took the famous 'Sentosa Exress'. The single-day Sentosa pass that cost SGD 3.50 around P115.00 or USD 2.75, allows tourist an island entry and an unlimited ride on the monorail. The 'EZ link card'' that we used in MRT is our means of payment as it can be applied in here too. If you have been to Hong Kong it's the same as the 'octupus card' which can also be used in different mode of public transportation such as bus, MRT, or selected taxis.

Monorail ride is the answer to our humble desire to experience the panorail in 'Jurong Bird Park'. Unfortunately, the panorail service was pulled out on our visit which disappoints us a bit; this will give the tourist supposed to be a bird's eye view of the whole bird park.

The travel took us only around 10 minutes from 'Vivo City' to 'Beach station' including two stops in 'Waterfront Station' and 'Imbiah Station'. Riding Sentosa Express will give you an opportunity to see the lush greenery that engulfed Sentosa and some nearby islands from above. The monorail can accommodate 100 passengers in standing position, it's the same feature as the train but it only composed of two-way cabin which is relatively small. For the delight of all passengers, each monorail is quite eye-catching as it consist of various distinct colors such as pink, orange, red, green, and purple.

Right on our arrival at the 'Beach Station' (last station of Sentosa Express); there is a 'Beach Tram' waiting for all the passengers that leads us directly to 'Siloso Beach'. It is free because it is included in the SGD 3.50 that we paid at Sentosa Station in Vivo City (SGD 2 for island entry + SGD 1.50 unlimited ride with Sentosa Express). 50 passengers can accommodate to one trip and seeing the shoreline while riding the tram is a wonderful experience.

Actually, the beach is accessible 'on foot' if you want an up-close encounter within the vicinity. This place is just close to a kilometer from the monorail station, and you will only consume around 10 to 15 minutes I guess unless you will not stop along the way. Biking or rollerblading is a good alternative too as we've seen so many tourist doing so while having fun witnessing the beautiful scenery that surrounds the area.

Why not try to have some fun in Wave House? We stopped for a while and very tempting to try though hehehe.

Due to the large space available in Siloso Beach, there are lots of things to do here which is absolutely free. If you're a sport fanatic, this is the place for you to have some time with since there are so many visitors playing touch rugby, Frisbee, basketball (first come first serve), beach volleyball (first come first serve basis), and football. 

I don't know if this boulder is artificial as well though. hehehe

However, if you want to spend a few bucks for renting equipments, then there are wide variety of water sports to rent per hour like canoeing, skim boarding, kayaking, or surfing to an artificial wave at the 'Wave House'. You can even try to learn how to fly as there is a flying trapeze lesson on the corner of the beach near Trapizza. If you want to dive through the canopies of Sentosa to one of the island in Siloso as a final drop, try the megazipline which is considered as the highest zipline in Asia.

For those who aren't interested to play with balls, just a stroll along or simply bask in the sun while enjoying the view around is the best thing to do. If you want to people watch to admire other 'wheeiiittt wheeeww!" hot bods, then you come to the right place (ahahaha!). Just make sure to apply enough sunscreen or sunblock as the sun rays can be extremely ruthless sometimes.

Its' good that we visited the place on weekday morning in order to avoid the crowd as it can get a little bit unbearable at times. It seems that we owned the place ourselves as the beach is practically empty. BFF Lemwuel who is based is Singapore said that during week-end, it is extremely crowded and it is always filled with excitement, activities, and parties. You need to compete with other tourist and locals just to have a good spot in the shade to place your belongings.

There are two pavilions just in case you wanted to use for free, the 'Sapphire' and 'Emerald Pavilion'. It's like the size of one big basketball court where tourist can leave their stuff while having a dip at the bay. Better follow rules and regulations like cleaning the place after you use it or else you are obliged to pay some fines once caught.

Restaurants, bars, café and bistros are mushrooming around the vicinity; however, for you to save a few bucks better bring your own picnic basket as the price here is quite expensive. We did try 'Trapizza restaurant' which is just adjacent to Trapeze school that offers the improbable combination of pizzas, and pasta. The 'Café del Mar' is a good try too but it is a little bit expensive but for those who can afford it's just right for you then.

The Siloso signage near the round about going back to 'Beach Monorail Station' is one of the popular designs that i fond the most in here. 6 separate letters of S.I.L.O.S.O. with distinct colors is a good backdrop that proves that you are really here. I have to admit, when I saw the word sign through internet, it boast me up as it's the best 'timeline' pics if ever and we were fortunate to have a moment with it then (ahahaha!). Actually when we arrived at the area there are so many people queuing to have a shot and since the three of us wanted to have a souvenir from the structure, we asked someone to take a photo of us then.

Overall, Siloso Beach is a great place to chill-out under the sun. It doesn't matter if it is artificial or not, point is we enjoyed the place bigtime. One more thing, try to visit after dark, as this place really comes alive with parties, loud music, lively bars and restaurant, celebrating the beach lifestyle long into the night.

On our way back to the Beach Monorail Station after few hours of wandering and skin dipping at Siloso Beach. What a blast! hehehe
